Impacting Heroes

On Monday September 24 I spent the morning with my good friend and fellow Champions Tour player Rick Karbowski at a first-year fundraising event at Blackstone Golf Club in Sutton, Mass. Rick is working to help raise funds to construct a new neurorehabilitation clinic through the Seven Hills Foundation in Worcester, Mass. The clinic will treat returning service men and women from Iraq who are suffering from  traumatic brain injuries (TBI).

Rick is doing some great work with his close friends and corporate partners to help build this much needed facility. Through another organization, Impact-A-Hero, which raises funds to help rehabilitate and assimilate returning veterans from Iraq, I've met and talked with many soldiers who have experienced and currently are being treated for TBI. This is going to be the 'signature' injury from this Iraqi conflict and these brave young men and women need and deserve any help we can give them.

If anyone is interested in helping to support one of these fantastic organizations, you can contact us here at Peter Jacobsen Sports or through the PGA TOUR. The world of professional golf is doing all it can to salute and celebrate all of our returning heroes.
