I had another fantastic week at the 2007 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am playing with my long-time partner, rock & roll legend Huey Lewis.
The weather was just what you would expect during a week in Monterey in February! Wet, windy and cold. But that is exactly what makes playing Pebble Beach so much fun. The reason Pebble Beach is my favorite golf course in the world is that it is so enjoyable and is playable in any weather condition. The course is very fair and requires a lot of creative imagination and shot-making, especially in the wind. In fact, it was so windy on Saturday, during the third round, we had to hit 7 irons to reach the short, 110-yard par-3 7th hole! Overall, we had a lot of wind but a lot of fun.
Huey and I again had the chance to play as partners the very next week at the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am in Tampa, Florida. We were paired the first two days with Scott Simpson and his partner, comedian Bill Murray.

When I tell you we had a fantastic time and laughed all the way around, it doesn't even come close to describing the fun we had. Bill is a very good player and hits the ball extremely long. In fact, he and Scott won the pro-am part of the competition at 20-under-par. Huey and I didn't do as well but enjoyed the week together.
We teed it up last week at The ACE Group Classic here in Naples, Florida, a "home" game for me. The weather was about 80 degrees and the new course we played, Quail West, was spectacular. Although my hip has been feeling very strong as I hit the five-month post-operation date, I'm still having trouble with my sciatic nerve. I hated having to withdraw from an event so close to my home but need to take it easy and listen to my body when it asks me to rest!
I'm looking forward to getting back out there in March at the Toshiba Classic in Newport Beach, California.
I hope you are all doing well.
