The inaugural FedExCup season came to its expected conclusion with a not-so-surprising finish. Though Tiger Woods was the most dominant player all year long on the PGA TOUR, no one was sure if it was enough to lock-in his win of the somewhat confusing FedExCup...I think we are all still trying to figure out the points system. However, it obviously didn't take Tiger long to figure it out! Tiger played flawless golf in the four consecutive week 'playoff' run to the FedExCup Championship. He simply played great golf at the right time, which is what a great player does.
Personally, I enjoyed the FedExCup competition very much. It brought so much positve attention to the PGA TOUR in September, when most sports fans turn their attention to college and professional football. But leave it to Tiger, Phil Mickelson and Steve Stricker, the top 3 finishers in the FedExCup standings, to make things interesting and a lot of fun. I give the FedExCup an 8 out of 10 for the first year. Overall it was a successful move and certainly something that will grow in the future. Will there be changes? No question about that. But the one thing that WON'T change? Tiger is still #1 and probably always will be.
At least that's my take...what's yours?
